Sunday Miscellany: Rocket Bureau, RiceCrackers, Tomiji, Lumps, Averkiou, Dripping Wet

Hope these get your pieholes quarter-moon-shaped. Sappy Habbath.

We're glad this Madisonian alerted us to his silo of freebies at Bandcamp.

Another fun email headsup. Boston band claims to be "all Asian," although chanteuse Olivia West admits guitarist Huxley is a half-Russian Caucasian who lived in Singapore. But who cares, the music drives cleverly and reminds us of no grandmother we've ever known.

This chanson parisienne can be freely downloaded here.

Our favorite from a 20-song compilation by King Pizza Records.

Yes, another to love from the Gainsville band.

These Denton jangleurs almost (but not quite) make us proud to be Tetsuns. We best like #s 1, 3, and 5.

Faves from the Skywave Tribute: Static Daydream & We Miss The Earth + Ceremony

Widgeted below are two of our favorites from Got That Feeling, the excellent tribute to Fredericksburg, VA shoegazers Skywave. The nineteen-song compilation is available for name-your-price download, courtesy of The Blog That Celebrates Itself. Former members have gone on to form other bands we love, including Ceremony, A Place To Bury Strangers, and Static Daydream, two of which are featured on the tribute. Several excellent reviews can be accessed at The Planet Of Sound.

We should have posted "Stars Fall" long ago, our all-time favorite by Ceremony. (It's actually the top-ranked track at our Last.fm page.) If you like it on the vid, click  the link below for the free download, courtesy of Last.fm. Approximate lyrics here.

Did You Die

After they somehow found out we loved some of their tunes in the second widget below, the Vancouver band let us know about/love the tune in the Felix Fung-produced first.

We especially love #s 1 & 4, and very much like their cover of an all-time fave (#2).

White Bleaches' Bad Character

We'd like to thank Psychgazer (Episode 86) for the headsup on these Melbourne psychmeisters, and hereby do so. You can find another excellent f&ld (free and legal downloadable) here.

Touched by Volage

Ooooh, an upsidedown Hofner!

Here is our favorite off this Psychotic Reaction comp, but you might prefer one of the other twelve. And that's totally fine.

That previously posted song by the Tours band is still available here.

Pull on up to the b0ard and feast on THING and things.

Song #2 got us twitchin' as well.

Here are our three favorites (that we haven't already posted) from The Active Listener Sampler 33, which we just now found in our emailbox. Thank you, Nathan Ford.

Oh, and here's another groovy li'l number courtesy of The Active Listener.

We have a new musicfriend!!! We found Thorsten Sideb0ard because he liked someTHING at Bandcamp we also liked and voila! Not only does he have fabulous hair but he also has fabulous taste in music. Here are a few THINGS we found by clicking around his Bandcamp collection.

Be sure and check out song #2, too.

<We also very much "dug" #4.

Lots of good pop in this one, so drink up.

Finally, thanks, Thorsten, for following me, too. I'm looking forward to Bandcamp email notifications of what you're buying.

Tiger Waves' Lost Album Found

Approximately 31 years ago we got turned way on by Austin/Chicago band Tiger Waves. We've just been notified they've dropped a superb 12-song Lost Album and made it available for free download at SoundCloud. The following are our very favorites, although we love and could have pretty much posted every song.

As previously noted, you can download beaucoup TW songs freely and legally at SoundCloud, but we can't resist posting two of our all-time faves from their catalogue. Feel free to check out the rest if you're so reclined.

And in case it's slipped (or never entered) your memory, we relink you back to our three-year-old post***on another incatnation of TW, yclept "Southern Boutique." More excellent free and legals await you there. To whet your appetite, here's one SB song we posted that's also on the new/old TW LP. Confusing?

PP-IAE: Roaring Juniors, Wild Meadows, Andy Ketch, Moving To Ashbury, Swedish Death Candy, For Keeps

Possible Pleasure-Inducing Aural Experiences:

We also very much enjoyed #8 by these Ann Arborites.

Melbourne band go four-for-four on this excellent EP.

Chicago popper liked by Ms. Ketch and us. #1's the one we actually wanted to lead off with, but Bandcamp sometimes insists otherwise. Oh, heh, when you click play, it leads off with #1. Heh.

We also very much like #7, 8, & 9 by this Swedish band.

Swedish name but band's from London.

More sweetness, in this case from Denver.
